VP of Internet Marketing - AdzZoo
As you see, things here at AdzZoo have gotten extremely busy. Well, you may not directly see it… but you have noticed a lack of recent blogs. Time is very precious and everyone is working furiously in keeping our campaigns running successfully and keeping up with the growth! However, we realize many of you get a lot of of our blogs and get some good information. This is just as much of a service as keeping your campaigns going. This blog a service here just like anything else we do. So, in the tradition of my last blog post… here is another re-manufactured blog idea from an article by Trish Thackston in www.seo-news.com. After all, the purpose of this blog is to get you the information you need to be successful. No matter what.
Google Adwords is one of the most incredible marketing tools ever invented. It has the power to take your business from nowhere to being a success in just a short campaign (in some cases overnight!) So then… why wouldn’t everyone jump on the bandwagon and take advantage of such a powerful tool? Google is wondering the exact same thing and wants you think that way. As a matter of fact, all of the other search engine PPC solutions want you to think that way as well. Here’s something to think about. Ask yourself another question… Would you let someone with a new driver’s license behind the wheel of a race car? The answer is most likely “no” because, unless they are extremely lucky, they are going to crash and crash hard. Google Adwords is the Formula One of online search marketing and it is not for beginners despite what you may read on many websites (including Google itself). Google makes it very easy for you to go very fast. Yes, it’s very easy to start a campaign and very easy to get traffic… just like it’s easy to jump in that race car and push the pedal. You will make it to somewhere… but in what shape at the end?
Since I’m going sit here and counter the great search engine’s own marketing materials, I’d better list some good reasons. And yes, Trish’s article had four GREAT reasons. So here they are in a slightly different way of wording:
- 1) First, PPC can be very expensive and most new marketers will exhaust their ad budget before they can successfully bring in revenue. This is mainly because Google Adwords looks easy to use, but it can be deceptively difficult to master. The basic formula is to identify keywords, write an ad that uses the keywords and have a landing page that completely delivers on what your ad promises. Sounds easy huh, Well… that’s just where the fun starts.
2) Next, Google rewards advertisers who solve the problems their searchers are trying to solve. If you fail to do this you can expect high cost per click and low traffic. By this time your budget is slowly draining away now if all the steps above are not done “correctly”.
3) Further, Google purposefully keeps the exact formula for success under wraps. If you are not getting the results you are seeking, you can go to Google for help. However, the support you receive will be general at best. Expect Google to suggest that you “improve your landing page” or tell you to read “tips for writing ads.” On top of that, Google periodically changes their rules requiring you to change your campaign or face the prospect of high cost per click or low traffic. Professionals have the time, knowledge, connections and ability to stay just far enough behind Google to be successful.
4) Finally, the instant global reach of your Google Adwords campaign is accompanied by much competition with a wide variety of skill levels and budgets. Even if your campaign is locally geo-targeted like the type the AdzZoo predominantly manages. For every move you make to improve… other advertisers are doing the same. While everyone wins a part of the ad rotation, all of them have the potential to lose because competition for the same words pushes the costs higher. More money is going down the drain!
So while you may balk at spending money to have a company such as AdzZoo manage your online presence, the overall out of pocket cost may be lower and your return higher. It’s simple math… if you spend $800 and make $900… you win! If you spend $300 on your own and make $200… you didn’t save $500… you lost $100 with nothing to show. So think about that when you decide to run your own campaign. Do you want to be like many of your online competitors and spend yourself out of business with Adwords?
