Is there a tool whereby we can search a given geographic area for the number of Google searches on a given category in a given month? The Google Adwords Keyword Tool used to do that, but it changed and doesn’t do it as well anymore. Letting potential clients know how many searches were done last month in their category, in their geogrphic area (how many potential customers they miss out on without a Web Presence) is a powerful tool. I am selling campaigns all over and I would like to do a search as if I were in a specific geographic area on a particular category in that area, and have it return a result with the number of searches for that in the last month.

You can click “previous interface” on the keyword tool in the upper right corner. Also, you might try https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox?forceLegacy=true and and customize the search around a zip code.
