| At Delta Mitigation Bank, we specialize in wetland mitigation credits and banking. We are a 500 acre wetland bank located 2.5 miles south of Tippo, Mississippi in Tallahatchie County. The bank lies within the lower Mississippi River Valley in a broad, level, rural area which is dominated by crop production (primarily cotton and soybeans) and scattered tracts of bottomland woodlands, streams and sloughs. The Tallahatchie National Wildlife Refuge is located approximately 10 miles north of this bank.
The service area of the bank is the Yazoo Basin, Which occupies much of the floodplains east of the Mississippi River in the northwest portion of the state. It is important to note however that the service area comprises much of north and northeast Mississippi in land which is generally referred to as the Delta. The Counties within the service area include: Desoto, Tunica, Marshall, Benton, Tippah, Alcorn, Prentiss, Union, Pontotoc, Calhoun, Lafayette, Panola, Coahoma, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Grenada, Tate, Bolivar, Sunflower, Carroll, Holmes, Yazoo, Sharkey, Issaquena, Washington, Humphreys, Leflore, and parts of Chickasaw.
The Established Choice
among Mitigation Banks for Section 404
Wetland Credit
Delta Mitigation Bank is the established choice among mitigation banks for section 404 wetland credit. When businesses and governments are faced with wetland mitigation needs, we can reduce permitting time dramatically, not only because our credits are pre-approved, but also because of experience that includes groundbreaking work with cumulative impacts and certain habitat mitigation requirements.
DMB charges a fixed fee
that incorporates mitigation requirements of
the agreement with our clients.
Consequently, cost overruns and unexpected
problems are avoided that are commonly found
with onsite and other offsite mitigation
alternatives. Most often, the cost of
mitigation at DMB is less than all other
agency acceptable alternatives.
The purchase of credits from DMB mitigation
banks completely and irrecoverably transfers
responsibility, liability and risks related
of our clients’ mitigation obligations to
us. Selecting DMB allows for the highest and
best use of the clients development site,
thereby maximizing the use of the land and
the potential of the project.
